Wendy and I finally received word Tuesday 3-29-11 that we are scheduled to be in Russia on April 25 to receive our referral on the 26th. We will get to meet our baby on the 27th! As you can imagine we are excited beyond belief. We are still in shock over receiving word. After some changes in late February regarding the region our paperwork would be in we were notified that Moscow City showed some potential. After waiting a year we didn't know exactly what this meant but we were open to whatever might get this process moving forward. Our agency asked us to check in later in March to see what the status of everything was.
After much discussion Monday night, Wendy and I finally decided to email to see if referrals had begun flowing again or if everything was still hung up. Our response was not at all what we expected. We were asked to call in to get some further information. Wendy called and was notified that we are scheduled to be in Russia on the 25th of April. Tuesday afternoon turned into surreal madness as we ran all over town notifying family and friends to our news.
The one thought that continues to run through my head is "God is Good". We had to continually remind ourselves that this would happen in God's time and not in our own. We are also reminded of how beautifully similar the process of adoption is to our own adoption as believers into the loving arms of our savior.
